A hiring manager is also known as the HR manager. His main job is to interview, recruit and then hire potential employees who have the talent and skill a certain company is looking for. Typically, a hiring manager focuses on college courses in communications, human resources, business and administration. Some schools offer short courses as well as certificate courses in this field.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
To become a successful hiring manager, one must maintain an upbeat and positive attitude towards his work at all times. He must be organized and capable of solving problems in a timely manner. In addition, he must have at least basic skills in math, excellent communication skills, especially his verbal skills, and is computer literate. He must be a good judge of character to distinguish which of the potential candidates will fit best in the company.
The working condition of a hiring manager differs from job to job. He usually works in large industries like BPO offices, telecommunications offices and the like. This job requires a minimum of 40 hours a week, but this may vary depending on the company. His services are not limited to the office, but he may need to attend meetings and conduct interviews outside the office.
