Avionics Engineer Responsibilities and Duties

Execute avionics inspection standards and methods in compliance with manufacturer recommendations and applicable a14 CFR regulations.

Comply with company policy, ATA standards and Federal Aviation Regulations.

Check and revise technical data to reflect aircraft, engine and avionic components’ current configuration.

Complete projects under Operational Review Board and Chief Engineer’s definition.

Establish maintenance work tasks and conduct timely disposition of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.

Develop and implement fleet and maintenance reliability measures and operational parameters.

Coordinate and enter information to review Minimum Equipment List.

Coordinate avionic technical review, requirement gathering and implement schedules to ensure integrity within and outside Gulfstream Aerospace.

Handle Advanced Aircraft Program, Quality groups and Manufacturing and direct avionics staff appropriately.

Develop estimating standards, weekly reports and status updates for overtime.

Work with functional management on manpower requirements, budget estimates and personnel performance.

Design aircraft integration solutions for electrical and avionics aircraft interiors and system components and assist in aircraft testing.

Verify ground and flight test procedures and incorporate compliance with latest FAA design guidelines.

Coordinate with equipment vendors to record requirements and serve as an operational and interface between avionics systems and sub-systems to validate.

Involve in project bid process to document design and engineering requirements to bid estimates and confirm customer price quotes.
