Meat Cutter Responsibilities and Duties

Comply with local, state and government weights, measures and labeling laws.

Welcome and receive customer orders.

Handle limited authority over Market associates in Market Manager’s absence.

Increase sales through good customer service.

Ensure quality control and good departmental conditions.

Manage products while complying with production standards set by Food Lion.

Offer friendly, courteous and prompt customer service.

Ensure departmental sanitation with rotation and pricing.

Handle reductions properly.

Run Market Department equipment like slicer, scale, grinder, saw, wrapper, knife and cuber.

Cut and trim, handle, wrap and merchandise products.

Sign, weigh and price product properly.

Rotate product as per code dating policy.

Check meat deliveries and rewrap meats.

Follow company guidelines for department safety and sanitation.
