Dental Assistant Responsibilities and Duties

Assist Dentist during patient treatments and surgeries.

Work under the supervision of licensed dentist to perform patient examinations.

Setup dental instruments and tools required for patient examinations.

Assist in preparing restorative materials for dentures.

Schedule appointments for patients and maintain patient dental history.

Record patient progress and maintain patient information confidential.

Use dental equipment and tools safely and effectively to avoid any accidents.

Follow safety and security policies established by clinics.

Monitor inventory levels and order and stock dental tools to avoid any shortages.

Clean, sterilize and disinfect dental tools after every use.

Maintain treatment room clean, safe and organized.

Educate patients on oral health care and respond to their queries and concerns.

Prepare patient for surgeries and explain them about surgery procedures and postoperative instructions.

Report management about dental equipment maintenances, repairs and malfunctions.

Attend educational trainings and workshops to improve professional and technical knowledge.
