Biomedical Equipment Technician Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct complex and routine installation, calibration and service and other biomedical instrumentation and equipment tasks.

Support systematic preventive maintenance biomedical instrumentation and equipment program.

Ensure biomedical equipment’s and internal circuitry meets standard requirements.

Satisfy departmental performance standards consistently.

Answer customer queries through telephone and offer onsite technical support.

Maintain dialysis systems, reuse and ancillary medical equipments and RO water systems.

Conduct electrical performance and safety assurance testing on dialysis machines.

Review weekly RO system and log sheet for accuracy and note deviations.

Comply with standards of conduct, organizational integrity program and other policies.

Handle PM procedures with biomedical equipment manufacturer standards, recommendations and acceptable industry processes.

Handle specialized equipment services in laboratory analyzers, laser, ultrasound, ventilators, sterilizers and anesthesia machines.

Inform biomedical equipment users and Clinical Engineering Management on status updates.

Interface with clinical staff to identify and remedy scheduling problems.

Identify need for replacement supplies and select and submit cost effective sources with established guidelines and policies.

Offer on call service coverage beyond business hours and conduct other duties as directed by CE Manager.
