Personal Lines Underwriter Responsibilities and Duties

Identify business opportunities with new clients and generate additional businesses with existing clients.

Evaluate risks and develop appropriate mitigation procedures.

Adhere to company underwriting guidelines and procedures.

Negotiate business terms and conditions with clients when required.

Analyze underwriting issues and develop resolution plans.

Assist in promoting products and services to customers.

Explain customers about company products and services and their benefits.

Understand customer business needs and recommend appropriate products.

Assist in development of business strategies to achieve company goals.

Identify business problem areas and propose corrective actions.

Escalate complex business issues to Manager for resolutions.
