Photo Editor Responsibilities and Duties

Handle requests from reporters and producers to select and prepare strong images for different stories as well as galleries.

Present photo coverage of high volume news events as well as breaking news situations.

Research and present slideshows and varied visual-based features to photo editors.

Attain photos from diverse sources quickly and must be within budgetary limits.

Ensure to advocate for new visual storytelling products and techniques.

Ensure to advocate for steady and compliance to set image guidelines.

Execute strong visual literacy along with project management skills to coordinate and conduct assigned editing projects.

Prepare and maintain rapport with all assigned photographers along with Media Partners.

Involve in archive photo edits as required and directed by Photography Director.

Perform with Photography Director and edit team to identify along with recruiting new photographers as well as artists.

Review all unsolicited submissions from artists and photographers interested to join firm.

Perform closely with Creative Research, Sales & Research, Production, Legal, Marketing and varied departments as required.

Train all picture editors, editing assistants, photography coordinators as well as contractors.

Maintain and comply with all departmental budgets.

Negotiate fees plus supervise all contracts.
