If you are in charge of corresponding with university students, especially in regards to the acceptance of admissions, it is very important for you to know how to write formal business letters regarding the subject. Not only will it be a big part of your job, but you also want the students to be assured that they are working with an established, professional institution. Here is a quick guide to writing a businesslike and cordial admission acceptance letter to a student.
Format and Content
Write formally on the institution’s official letterhead, paying close attention to correct spelling and grammar. A good admission acceptance letter format will have about three paragraphs, wherein you will congratulate the student on his or her acceptance, give all the necessary enrollment details as well as your contact information, and give a nice expression of appreciation for the student’s interest in the university. Remember to enclose any important forms for the student’s enrollment along with the letter and be sure your signature is in the proper place, as will be shown below in an example.
