Administrative Assistant Recommendation Letter

An administrative assistant recommendation letter may be written by a current employer, a teacher, a pastor or anyone who can vouch for the dependability and character of the individual who is applying for a job. It can be mailed directly to the prospective employer or given to the job applicant.


This is a sample administrative assistant recommendation letter written by the employer of an individual who is currently working at a company as an administrative assistant. The person is relocating to a different city after purchasing a new house and is interviewing for a different job closer to home.

Dear XYZ Corporation Marketing Manager:

I am writing this letter to recommend Grace Hudson for the job of administrative assistant in the XYZ Corporation Marketing Department. Grace has been my administrative assistant here in the Marketing Division of ABC Industries for the past seven years, and she will be sorely missed. As the marketing manager I can attest to the fact that Grace has been an integral part of our marketing team almost from the first day she started with the company.

She has extensive experience writing and formatting proposals for prospective clients, putting together PowerPoint presentations for use by our marketing representatives and designing brochures to be distributed at trade shows. Grace has tremendous energy and enthusiasm and is always eager to learn a new technology or master a different skill. In addition to having excellent written communication skills, she has superior verbal skills as well. She is extremely articulate and represents XYZ Corporation well when dealing with clients or prospects on the telephone.

A natural people person, I have felt comfortable sending Grace to certain events where she has served as the ABC Industries representative. At times when all members of our marketing team have been tied up, I have felt completely comfortable sending Grace to represent the company at local Chamber of Commerce activities and other community events. She has represented the company with poise and confidence, and we will certainly miss her help with these duties. I have complete confidence in Grace’s abilities both at the office and out in the field representing the company.

Grace is not only an excellent administrative assistant, but a good candidate for moving up in any marketing department. She has her Associates Degree in Marketing, and now that she is moving closer to the University, plans to complete her Bachelor’s Degree. She is well-liked and respected by her colleagues here at ABC Industries and has always been a hard-working, cooperative member of our marketing team. We are all extremely sorry to see her go, but wish her all the best in her new home.
