An interview acceptance letter is typically written whenever a job applicant lives some distance from the location of the interview, and is therefore required to travel in order to attend the meeting. It can sometimes be written in order for an applicant to present himself in a more positive light prior to the interviewer as well. The letter is normally sent via regular mail, but can also be sent by overnight mail or express delivery whenever time is of the essence.
Format and Content
The letter should be addressed to the person who is holding the interview. The interview acceptance letter format should contain information about the interview such as the date, time and place so that everyone involved can be sure they are on the same page concerning the meeting. It should not rehash information included in a resume or talk about an applicant’s credentials, as this could potentially be a turnoff.
