Civil EngineerCivil engineering is the oldest and broadest engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the bridges, power plants, canals, dams, buildings and others. He/she is responsible in analyzing and planning the construction project and at the end the civil engineer must inspect the product to ensure that all rules, regulations and guidelines have been explicitly followed.
Civil Engineers should possess an academic degree usually designated as a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science. A civil engineer must use many different equations and applications like chemical testing applications, drafting and design software, electrical test devices and equipment, land surveying techniques and the metric system. He/she should possess good analytical skills, communication skills and excellent problem solving capabilities.
