I am writing to apply for the position of Diet Technician at Crouse Hospital.
I completed an associate degree in nutrition and my studies focused on food service management, human health and nutritional basics. I also took courses in communication and general patient care to help prepare for a position in this field. I completed and passed the American Dietetic Association’s Commission on Dietetic Registration exam to become a register Diet Technician.
I have acquired the skills to talk with clients to obtain the proper information needed to assess the dietary needs of the individual correctly. I can then use this information to create a nutritional program that suits the person’s needs using the recommendations of a professional registered dietitian.
I have the ability and the desire to promote programs that focus on wellness and nutrition along with other programs that encourage the public to eat healthy diets. I also have the skills to help create these programs and to plan menus around the dietary needs of the client. I have strong observation skills with the ability to monitor the status of patients to determine if their nutritional needs are being met and to make changes when necessary.
I’m a natural born leader with a take-charge attitude, so I also have the ability to put together work schedules, oversee operations, coordinate daily activities, inventory supplies and place orders as needed.
