The job of an Advertising Production Manager is to act as a link between his/her team and project managers of a company, department or account. These managers are responsible for directing tasks and team members involved in the production of advertising campaigns of various media, including magazines, newspapers, television ads, exhibits, displays or digital advertising.
A successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business or a similar field and at least 2 years experience in project management.
Advanced understanding of advertising production and procedures involved in serving ads in various media platforms, proficiency in computer applications, proven presentation, negotiation and communication skills, as well as leaderships and organizational skills. The advertising production manager must also be creative, proactive, detail-oriented and has the ability to work independently and as a team leader, even under stressful environments and while meeting deadlines.
Specific work elements
Coordinating activities needed in preparing advertisements for print or broadcast, supervising workers throughout the production of ad campaign materials, selecting the style of advertisements based on design, sketches, layout, method and other design factors, submitting copies of ad materials to printing firms, examining layout proofs and determining items to edit as necessary and deciding the final advertising products to launch, among others.
