Logistics Planner Responsibilities and Duties

Provide customer care team with everyday comprehensive reporting data along with tracking information.

Conduct comparison analysis and present monthly reports to management on data performance to plan.

Recommend most efficient means of transportation needs and procedures.

Support monthly summary of transporter scorecard reports along with tracking metrics.

Perform on going evaluation and review of transportation arrangement for constant improvement opportunities.

Collect scorecard metrics and ensure to persuade changes with suppliers.

Investigate alternative distribution processes effectiveness for definite customers as required.

Identify sensitive clients and interact special customer requirements with carriers.

Develop and present status reports to improve and supervise logistics order performance.

Instruct carrier agents and supervise for ample action and results concerning transportation.

Coordinate and investigate client logistic associated charge backs like shortages, lost/ damage product in transit and missed deliveries with account representative.

Perform with carrier transit schedules and update through JD Edward’s E1 Freight Systems.

Identify best cost effective procedure of transportation.

Review daily Lading Bills for accurate billing regulations depending on density weight of class.

Ensure to convey Planning (APICS) Certification is desirable and requires 3-5 years related experience in production scheduling, distribution, materials and inventory planning.
