Grant Acceptance Letter

When your business or organization is lucky enough to become the recipient of a grant, you should try to respond as graciously and professionally as possible. When a grantor has chosen to give money to a specific cause or purpose, they appreciate knowing that it is going to a grateful and responsible recipient. Writing a letter is a great way to show your gratitude and solidify a rewarding relationship with the grantor. Here is a helpful guide to writing a formal and sincere grant acceptance letter.

Format and Content

Write on your business or organization’s official letterhead if you have one, and pay close attention to proper spelling and grammar. You should have approximately three paragraphs in a good grant acceptance letter format. Open with your formal acceptance of the grant and a nice expression of your gratitude. You may also wish to say a few words about your organization and the plans you have for the grant. Give your contact information in case any further discussion is needed, and close with a few appropriate words of appreciation. Remember to sign and date the letter in the correct places.

If you are looking for ideas on how to best represent your business or organization in your formal letter to a grantor, looking at an example may be helpful.
