I have earned an associate’s degree in medical office assistant and my studies included courses in physiology, anatomy, database management, coding systems, clinical classification and medical terminology.

While earning my degree, I held a secretarial position with a medical center performing clerical duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, registering patients and keeping records updated. My experience includes extensive knowledge of multi-line telephone systems, microfiche, scanners and medical charting systems.

I possess a pleasant and welcoming demeanor with the ability to show compassion for patients dealing with difficult situations while still providing professional service. My strong communication skills make it possible to deal with difficult patients by helping them to understand that the staff will do everything possible to take care of their medical needs and it makes it possible to convey information with other professionals efficiently.
