Dear Mrs. Barnes,

I’m applying for the retail merchandiser position which has recently became available by submitting this letter with resume. I have a bachelor’s degree in retail management from Eastern Kentucky University and fully believe that a review of my skills and past experience will reveal the benefits and contributions I can make to the team at Retail Service Partners.

My skills are closely related to the requirements needed to fill this position. They include having strong analytical and numerical skills along with the ability to interpret the needs of the company. Forecasting trends and working closely with the buyer to determine how many lines of products to buy, how much of each one and how much money to spend all fall under my expertise.

I have a flexible schedule so I’m available when needed, outstanding verbal and written skills and the ability to create effective merchandise layouts to draw in the customers. My past training includes identifying problems and finding solutions to correct them. I have experience dealing directly with suppliers and distributors, controlling stock levels and using promotional items to help sell merchandise.
